We are seeking an experienced Associate Technical Lead with strong expertise in Angular and Spring Boot to join a client-facing engineering team. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical leadership while designing, developing, and delivering scalable, secure, high-performance full-stack applications that support business-critical systems.
This role combines software engineering, solution design, team guidance, delivery ownership, and the responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices. You will collaborate with clients, architects, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable, and cloud-ready solutions.
You will also help the team adopt modern AI-powered development and “vibe coding” workflows, using coding assistants and agentic development tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery—while ensuring all AI-generated output meets established standards for security, architecture, maintainability, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications using Angular and Spring Boot.
Lead solution design discussions and translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Define and promote frontend and backend architecture standards, coding conventions, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
Design responsive, modular, maintainable, and reusable UI components using modern Angular practices.
Design and develop backend services, integrations, business logic, and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Ensure secure and reliable integration between frontend applications, backend services, databases, and external systems.
Apply clean architecture, domain-driven design concepts, modular patterns, SOLID principles, and appropriate design patterns.
Review technical designs and code for maintainability, performance, security, testability, and scalability.
Promote effective use of AI-assisted development tools for code generation, prototyping, refactoring, debugging, testing, code analysis, and documentation.
Guide engineers in responsible AI-first and vibe coding workflows, ensuring AI-generated code is understood, reviewed, tested, and aligned with project standards.
Establish practical AI development guidelines covering human review, security, data privacy, intellectual property, and handling of client or proprietary information.
Identify opportunities where AI and automation can reduce repetitive work, improve developer productivity, and accelerate delivery.
Evaluate AI coding assistants, agentic development tools, and emerging engineering technologies, recommending adoption where they provide measurable value.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, architectural constraints, and delivery challenges, and drive mitigation actions.
Guide troubleshooting of complex production issues, root-cause analysis, and implementation of sustainable fixes.
Mentor software engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, pair programming, AI-assisted development practices, and knowledge-sharing.
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and client stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Participate in requirement clarification, estimation, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
Break down complex requirements into clear technical tasks and support the team in delivering against agreed scope, quality, and timelines.
Contribute to CI/CD, cloud readiness, observability, application security, and operational support practices.
Maintain technical documentation covering architecture decisions, APIs, integrations, deployment processes, and development standards.
Act as a technical point of contact for assigned modules, workstreams, and client discussions.
What We Expect:
7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including significant full-stack application development experience.
At least 1–2 years of experience leading technical workstreams, mentoring engineers, or providing technical direction within a delivery team.
Strong proficiency in Angular, preferably Angular 19+, along with TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
Strong understanding of Angular architecture, reusable components, reactive programming, state management, routing, forms, performance optimization, and frontend testing.
Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and related Spring technologies.
Strong experience designing, implementing, documenting, and securing RESTful APIs and working with JSON.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and practical experience with MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transactions.
Good understanding of authentication, authorization, secure coding, API security, and common web application vulnerabilities.
Strong understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, clean code, design patterns, and automated testing.
Understanding of modern architectures including modular monoliths, microservices, event-driven systems, and distributed applications.
Experience with Git, branching strategies, pull requests, automated builds, and modern CI/CD practices.
Practical experience with, or strong willingness to adopt, AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or equivalent tools.
Ability to use generative AI effectively for implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, code analysis, documentation, and rapid prototyping.
Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, architecture, and unintended behavior.
Understanding that AI-assisted or vibe coding complements rather than replaces sound engineering judgment, code review, testing, and architectural oversight.
Awareness of responsible AI considerations including data privacy, intellectual property, information security, hallucination risks, and protection of client information.
Working knowledge of at least one cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with Docker; Kubernetes exposure is advantageous.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and contributing to planning, estimation, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Ability to remain hands-on while providing technical guidance and making sound decisions in a client-driven environment.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have:
Domain knowledge of event ticketing, reservation, e-commerce, or high-volume transactional platforms.
Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar platforms.
Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
Knowledge of API gateways, service discovery, centralized configuration, distributed tracing, and observability.
Experience with performance testing, monitoring, logging, and production support.
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native engineering practices.
Experience with technical interviews, onboarding, or engineering capability development.
Experience introducing AI-assisted development standards, workflows, or developer productivity initiatives.
Practical experience with AI-first development, vibe coding, prompt engineering, agentic coding, or AI-assisted code review.
Familiarity with measuring AI-assisted engineering effectiveness through indicators such as cycle time, code quality, defect rates, and review effort.
Relevant certifications in Angular, Java, Spring, cloud platforms, software architecture, or AI-related engineering.
Passion for staying current with developments in Angular, Spring Boot, Java, cloud engineering, generative AI, and modern full-stack architecture.
